Marketplace Compliance & Seller Standards
Our Commitment to Ecosystem Integrity
Last Updated: January 2025
Creatimatic is built on a foundation of respect for marketplace ecosystems. We believe that healthy marketplaces require tools that empower sellers while protecting buyers and maintaining platform integrity. This page documents our commitment to compliance, transparency, and ethical commerce practices.
Our Philosophy: Professional sellers deserve professional infrastructure. Marketplaces deserve ecosystem partners who respect their policies. Buyers deserve consistent, high-quality experiences. Creatimatic exists at the intersection of these three principles.
This compliance page serves as a public declaration of our operational standards and a resource for marketplace API reviewers evaluating our platform for integration approval.
1. Human-Centric Content Policy
Creatimatic is an administrative command center, not a content generation tool. Every piece of creative content—from product descriptions to images—is authored, curated, and approved by the seller.
1.1 No Generative AI
Our platform does not include tools for the automated generation of product titles, descriptions, or imagery using Large Language Models (LLMs) or generative AI.
We do not offer:
- AI-generated product descriptions
- Automated title creation using machine learning
- AI-powered image generation or modification
- LLM-based content suggestions or rewrites
What we do offer: Format validation, compliance checking, and distribution infrastructure for seller-created content.
1.2 User-Authored Data
Sellers provide 100% of their product content. Creatimatic's role is purely administrative: we distribute seller-created content efficiently across multiple platforms, ensuring format compliance and technical synchronization.
The seller's role: Create product titles, write descriptions, capture or design images, set pricing, define product attributes.
Creatimatic's role: Validate format compliance (character limits, tag counts, required fields), synchronize data across platforms, maintain data integrity, prevent technical errors.
Clear distinction: We automate distribution and execution, not creation and decision-making.
1.3 Manual Review Required
All listings require explicit seller review and approval before publication. We provide validation tools to check compliance, but the final decision to publish always rests with the human seller.
Our validation process:
- Seller creates or updates product content
- System validates against marketplace-specific requirements
- System displays compliance status (pass/warning/fail)
- Seller reviews validation results
- Seller makes final decision to publish or revise
- System distributes approved content to selected marketplaces
No automatic publishing: Listings are never published without explicit seller action. Validation is advisory, not automatic.
2. Policy-First Synchronization
Creatimatic validates listings against marketplace-specific requirements before publication, preventing policy violations while respecting seller creativity.
2.1 Format Alignment
We automatically validate listings against marketplace-specific constraints before publication. This prevents accidental policy violations while maintaining seller control over content.
Marketplace-specific validations:
| Marketplace | Validation Examples |
|---|---|
| Etsy | 20-tag maximum, title length limits, required shop sections, handmade/vintage/supply categorization |
| Amazon | Title character counts (50-200 depending on category), bullet point requirements, brand registry compliance, restricted categories |
| eBay | Item specifics requirements, category-specific fields, shipping policy compliance, return policy requirements |
| Walmart | Quality standards enforcement, brand approval requirements, prohibited product categories, image quality minimums |
| Shopify | Product variant limits, collection requirements, SEO field optimization, inventory tracking settings |
Validation timing: Before publication, not after. Sellers see compliance issues during the listing creation process, not after marketplace rejection.
2.2 Policy Monitoring
Our system monitors marketplace policy changes and alerts sellers to listings that may need updates. We never automatically modify seller content—we notify and recommend, but sellers make all final decisions.
Policy change workflow:
- Marketplace updates policy (e.g., Etsy changes tag requirements)
- Creatimatic detects policy change via API monitoring
- System identifies affected listings in seller's catalog
- Seller receives notification with specific listings and required changes
- Seller reviews and decides whether to update listings
- Seller makes changes; system re-validates and syncs
Human control maintained: Policy alerts are informational. Sellers decide whether and how to respond.
2.3 Quality Standards
We enforce marketplace quality standards through pre-publication validation, not post-publication automation. Sellers see compliance issues before they publish, maintaining full control over their content.
Quality checks include:
- Image resolution and format requirements
- Required product attributes by category
- Prohibited terms and restricted content
- Pricing and shipping policy completeness
- Inventory availability validation
Built-in guardrails: The system prevents publishing non-compliant listings, but sellers control all content decisions.
3. Operational Excellence & Buyer Protection
Creatimatic's operational features protect both sellers and buyers by ensuring reliable, consistent commerce experiences across all platforms.
3.1 Real-Time Inventory Sync
Our real-time inventory synchronization prevents overselling across channels. When an item sells on one platform, all other listings are updated instantly, protecting buyers from disappointment and sellers from negative feedback.
How it works:
- Item sells on Platform A at 2:47 PM
- Inventory count decrements by 2:48 PM across all platforms
- If stock reaches zero, listings auto-pause on all platforms
- When inventory is replenished, seller can re-activate listings
- All platforms maintain accurate, synchronized inventory counts
Buyer protection: Prevents "out of stock" emails and order cancellations that damage buyer trust.
Seller protection: Prevents policy violations from overselling and protects seller ratings.
Marketplace benefit: Reduces buyer complaints and improves overall marketplace quality.
3.2 Order Fulfillment Transparency
We provide unified order tracking and fulfillment management, ensuring buyers receive accurate shipping updates and sellers maintain high service standards across all platforms.
Fulfillment features:
- Automatic order routing to appropriate fulfillment providers
- Real-time tracking number synchronization
- Shipping status updates pushed to all marketplaces
- Delivery confirmation notifications
- Return and exchange tracking
Transparency principle: Buyers always know order status. Sellers never miss fulfillment deadlines. Marketplaces see reliable service metrics.
3.3 Unified Customer Service
Our centralized notification system ensures sellers never miss a customer message, enabling fast response times and excellent customer service across all marketplaces.
Customer service features:
- Unified inbox aggregating messages from all platforms
- Full order history context for every conversation
- Response time tracking by marketplace
- Message threading and conversation history
- Manual response requirement (no automated bot messages)
Human communication: All customer messages are read and responded to by human sellers. We aggregate notifications but do not generate responses.
Marketplace benefit: Fast, personalized customer service improves buyer satisfaction and reduces marketplace support burden.
4. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited and technically prevented by our platform:
4.1 Spam & Mass-Duplication
Prohibited: "Churn and burn" tactics, mass-duplication of low-quality listings, automated listing generation at scale.
Why it's prohibited: Spam degrades marketplace quality, harms buyer experience, and violates marketplace policies.
How we prevent it:
- Rate limiting on listing creation (prevents bulk spam)
- Manual review required for all listings (no automated generation)
- Quality validation before publication (prevents low-quality content)
- No bulk listing tools without compliance validation
Our commitment: Creatimatic is designed for professional sellers building sustainable brands, not for spam operations.
4.2 Data Scraping
Prohibited: Scraping data from marketplaces, unauthorized data extraction, competitive intelligence gathering via automated tools.
Why it's prohibited: Data scraping violates marketplace Terms of Service, compromises platform security, and enables unfair competitive practices.
How we prevent it:
- All data access occurs through official APIs with proper authentication
- No web scraping or unauthorized data collection tools
- API rate limits respected per marketplace requirements
- Data usage limited to seller's own listings and orders
Our commitment: We access marketplace data only through authorized channels and only for legitimate synchronization purposes.
4.3 Automated Communication
Prohibited: Automated customer service responses, bot-generated messages, AI-powered communication tools.
Why it's prohibited: Automated communication reduces service quality, violates marketplace policies, and harms buyer trust.
How we prevent it:
- No message templates that auto-send without seller review
- No AI-generated response suggestions
- All customer messages require manual seller response
- Notification aggregation only (not response generation)
Our commitment: Customer communication is human-to-human. We facilitate faster responses by centralizing notifications, but sellers write and send all messages.
Declaration of Platform Intent
Creatimatic is an administrative command center. We exist to remove technical friction, not to bypass human creativity.
Our platform amplifies manual workflows by handling the repetitive "busy work" of cross-platform management, allowing sellers to focus on what they do best: creating great products and serving customers.
What we automate:
- Data synchronization across platforms
- Format validation and compliance checking
- Inventory updates and conflict prevention
- Order routing and tracking updates
- Notification aggregation and centralization
What we don't automate:
- Product content creation (titles, descriptions, images)
- Creative decisions (pricing, positioning, branding)
- Customer communication (messages, support, reviews)
- Strategic decisions (which products to sell, which markets to enter)
Our positioning: We provide the infrastructure; sellers provide the vision. We handle distribution; sellers handle creation. We automate execution; sellers control decisions.
Why this matters: Healthy marketplaces require tools that respect both seller autonomy and platform integrity. Creatimatic is built on this principle. We believe professional sellers deserve professional infrastructure that amplifies their capabilities without replacing their judgment.
Our commitment to marketplaces: We are ecosystem partners, not ecosystem threats. Our success depends on marketplace health, seller success, and buyer satisfaction. We design every feature with this three-way relationship in mind.
